Here’s what 2026 CCAR President Anthony Stroud had to say about the September market in Clark County:
“The word that I’m hearing about the current market is “challenging.” says CCAR President Anthony Stroud. “Rising interest rates are starting to have noticeable impacts on buying power, and headlines about the possibility of them rising again may cause some potential buyers to re-think their strategy. We are starting to see months of inventory and market time creep back towards historic norms – which is good news for buyers – but that is balanced out by the increased cost of mortgages.
Being prepared and well-informed is extremely important in this current market. Buyers need to have a real picture of what they can actually afford with today’s interest rates, and sellers need to be clear-eyed about the condition and marketability of their homes when they decide to list them. There’s more competition out there in terms of the number of listings, and the borrowing costs for buyers may lead to more requests during negotiations if a home is anything other than move-in ready. There are opportunities out there for both buyers and sellers who are well-prepared, well-informed, and well-advised by their real estate professionals.”
