EDUCATION
Communication & Outreach
CCAR is the primary voice of the real estate industry in Clark County Washington. We work to raise the profile of REALTORS® as an expert, trusted advisor, and champion helping create vibrant and healthy communities.
How does a not-for-profit trade association accomplish all of that? Through amazing volunteers and leaders (aka, our members)!
Committees – We have a committee that can help you fulfil your passion(s) and make a difference! Policy wonk? Maybe try your hand at our Government Affairs Committee. Party planners? Our RPAC Committee is for you! Have a passion for Professionalism and Ethics? Did you know that we have a committee for that too? Check out all the possibilities and while your at it, we would LOVE FOR YOU TO GET INVOLVED! A quick 1 minute form is all it takes to get started. Do you want to help fight homelessness, support education, battle hunger? The REALTOR Foundation can use as much help as you can give.
Foundation – Since 2005, the REALTOR Foundation has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for children, families and elderly of Clark County. In the past 5 years we have granted over $250,000 towards these efforts. We have partnered with local non-profits to address the greatest needs and we don’t plan on stopping until there is no longer a need. Want to learn more? Want to volunteer? Can’t volunteer but would like to donate? Check out our Foundation!
Events –Networking at our events can impact your business by building strong and lasting relationships. And they are just plain fun!
Advocacy & Influence
CCAR is committed to having effective relationships with local government officials and municipalities. We strive to encourage and nurture relationships with local organizations such as the Builders Association and the Chamber of Commerce. Want to get involved? Join our Government Affairs Committee!
Professionalism
The Professional Standards & Ombudsman Committees have both pledged to educate members on the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, to investigate and assess all complaints and to ensure all parties are treated fairly. CCAR has adopted NAR’s Pathways to Professionalism, which promote respect for the public, property, and peers.
Dispute Resolution – Options for Resolving Conflicts
CCAR assists in resolving home buyer/home seller disputes by overseeing a mediation program. The majority of mediated cases are able to reach a mutually agreeable settlement.
We use Ombudsman to mediate. The Ombudsman Program in its simplest definition is informal telephone mediation. In some cases, it can address and solve minor complaints from the public. It can also solve inter-Realtor® conflicts before they become serious problems. Like a mediator, an ombudsman helps parties find solutions. Request Mediation
In order to facilitate a more efficient and streamlined process to handle certain ethics violations, CCAR introduced a new Ethics Citation Program in January, 2023. Learn more.
REALTORS® are different from non-member licensees in that they voluntarily subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics. If you believe that a REALTOR® has violated one or more Articles of the Code of Ethics, you can file an ethics complaint alleging a violation(s) through the local association of REALTORS® where the REALTOR® holds membership, or participates in a REALTOR® association-owned/operated MLS.
